Winter Growth, Inc. is seeking a compassionate, creative, and organized Activities Coordinator to lead and support a dynamic Life Enrichment program for older adults and individuals with disabilities.
The Activities Coordinator plays an important role in creating meaningful experiences that promote social connection, cognitive engagement, physical activity, creativity, independence, and overall quality of life for our participants.
What You'll Do:
As our Activities Coordinator, you will:
- Lead and support Life Enrichment Associates (LEAs) in developing and delivering engaging, therapeutic, and participant-centered activities.
- Develop participant profiles to help staff understand individual interests, abilities, goals, and needs.
- Create diverse programming incorporating exercise, brain fitness, cultural activities, intergenerational experiences, pet therapy, healing arts, food experiences, and social activities.
- Evaluate programs regularly and make adjustments based on participant engagement and changing needs.
- Develop monthly activity calendars and weekly staff schedules.
- Incorporate birthdays, holidays, and special events into programming.
- Monitor activities to ensure they meet applicable program, grant, funding, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Support safe arrival, departure, meal, and participant-care procedures.
- Ensure staff follow appropriate feeding and dietary guidelines as directed by clinical professionals.
- Coordinate with volunteers to enhance the activity program.
- Review and approve LEA attendance records.
- Capture photographs and other appropriate documentation for families and organizational marketing.
- Participate in weekly Department Head, Interdisciplinary, and Care Plan meetings.
- Assist with quarterly grant reporting and program data collection.
- Stay current with regulations applicable to adult medical day care and the Activity Department.
What We're Looking For:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 3 years of experience in activities coordination, therapeutic recreation, or a related field serving older adults, individuals with disabilities, or other special populations.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Creativity, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to person-centered programming.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to operate a personal computer and stand for most of an eight-hour shift. The position may also require occasional lifting, rotating, repositioning, and assisting participants with transfers, including individuals who are partially or totally dependent and may require assistance from wheelchairs or other seated positions.
